Win $250 for your local high school and

free admission Halloween Night!

When people attend the Haunted Mill this year, they will be asked to indicate which local High School they support. The Haunted Mill will record the responses and use them to tally school spirit. It will be sort of like voting for your favorite school when you come to the mill. The high school with the most school spirit will be the recipient of this award. In order to make this fair, we will be using the percentage of the student body who attend, rather than actual numbers. In this way, it is fair to all the schools no matter how many students they have enrolled. It will be possible for a high school to receive more than 100%, because we are allowing parents and others who support that school to indicate that is the school they support and because each entry to the mill will count. Someone could also attend the mill more than once and each time they are admitted would count towards the total for the school. Additionally, if the winning high school meets or exceeds 90% they will receive $500 dollars, instead of $250. This will be their bonus for being an "A" school (you know, because they received at least a 90%).

In order to properly track this, we need to know the number of students in your high school's student body. We’ve requested current enrollment numbers from each local high school. We open September 30th and want to make sure all school's percentages are accurate from the beginning, so the competition is fair. The high schools and students can follow us on Facebook and Twitter to see how their school is doing each week. We will announce the winner via Facebook and Twitter on or before October 31st (after all the percentages for the season are calculated to include who attended Saturday October 29th). We will also contact the school that wins via e-mail or phone. At this point we will make arrangements regarding the monetary award we will be giving to the school. Additionally, we will also indicate to the winning school at this point how their entire student body can come to the mill for free on Halloween night (October 31st).
